Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions Policy

1. Who We Are

Pet Med Direct (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides an online service for the supply of veterinary medication and prescription services for small animals. Your use of our website (petmeddirect.co.uk) and any order you place is subject to these Terms & Conditions, which you accept when you register, place an order, or otherwise engage our service.

2. Interpretation & Application

By using our site and placing orders, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our site. We may amend these terms from time to time; the version displayed on the website at the time of your order is the version that applies.

3. Our Contract With You

3.1 When you place an order on our site, we will send you a confirmation email; at that point a contract is made between you and us for supply of the goods.
3.2 We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for any reason before the contract is made.
3.3 If we cannot procure the product you ordered, we will inform you and you will be given the option of a refund or an alternative product.

4. Supply of Products & Services

4.1 We supply veterinary medicines, over-the-counter products, and prescription services to small-animal (pets) owners within the UK in accordance with UK veterinary regulations.
4.2 Some products require a prescription and we may only dispense such products if you have a valid prescription from a veterinary surgeon or we hold a veterinary assessment.
4.3 Estimates of cost for prescription or veterinary-assessment services are indicative only; actual cost may vary depending on your animal’s needs.
4.4 All products must be used in accordance with instructions provided by the veterinary surgeon or by us. Failure to follow such instructions may invalidate your rights under these Terms.

5. Prescriptions

5.1 Prescription Only Medicines (POM-V) and other regulated veterinary medicines will only be supplied if proper conditions are met (e.g., your vet has seen your pet, the prescription is valid, and the product is appropriate).
5.2 Repeat prescriptions may require re-assessment of the animal or compliance with our policy (for example, the pet must have been inspected within a set period).
5.3 We reserve the right to charge a fee for issuing a written prescription or assessment. We will notify you of such charges in advance.
5.4 You may choose to have your prescription dispensed by us or elsewhere (another pharmacy or vet) if eligible; if you choose our service, we will advise on availability and cost.

6. Payment & Pricing

6.1 Our prices (for goods and services) are as shown on the website at the time of your order, inclusive of VAT unless otherwise stated.
6.2 Payment is due at the time of ordering for online transactions, or as stated in the invoice terms if account arrangements exist.
6.3 If you are unable to pay, please contact us promptly. We reserve the right to suspend supply of services or goods until payment is made.
6.4 If you default in payment, we may add administration, debt collection or other costs incurred in recovering the debt.

7. Delivery, Returns & Refunds

7.1 We aim to deliver goods according to the options selected at checkout; delivery times are estimates only and not guaranteed.
7.2 Non-refrigerated goods may be returned within 7 days if unopened and in original condition. Some items cannot be returned e.g., medicines once dispensed, temperature or cold sensitive items.
7.3 If a product is faulty, please notify us promptly; we will assess and if confirmed fault will either replace or refund in line with your legal rights.

8. Your Responsibilities

8.1 You confirm that you are a UK resident, over 18 years old, and authorised to purchase on behalf of the pet owner (if applicable).
8.2 You must provide all relevant, accurate information required for prescriptions and orders, including vet details, pet details, and owner details.
8.3 You must comply with all instructions for use of any medication supplied, and seek veterinary advice if you are unsure.
8.4 You must not use our service for commercial resale of goods unless we expressly agree in writing.

9. Limitation of Liability

9.1 We are responsible for foreseeable loss and damage caused by our failure to comply with these terms, but we will not be liable for loss that was not foreseeable at the time of the contract.  Nor the death of said pet as the legal contract for the medicine is with you and the prescribing vet.
9.2 Our liability does not extend to business losses (i.e., if you are purchasing for business use rather than private use).
9.3 Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud.
9.4 Subject to the above, our total liability to you in respect of any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the relevant goods or services.

10. Intellectual Property & Website Use

10.1 All materials, content, trademarks, design and software of the website are owned or licensed by us. You may not use or reproduce such materials except as necessary to access your order or account.
10.2 You must not misuse the website in a way that is unlawful, harmful, or interferes with its operation.

11. Complaints

If you have a complaint about our goods or services, please contact us at:

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales (or Northern Ireland, as appropriate). Any dispute under these terms shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales (or Northern Ireland, as applicable).

13. Changes to Terms

We may amend these Terms & Conditions at any time; changes will be effective when published on our website. Each time you use the site or place an order, the current version applies.
