About Frontline Spray
Frontline Spray 0.25% w/v Cutaneous Solution is a veterinary medicine containing fipronil, a proven insecticide and acaricide used to kill fleas, ticks, and biting lice on dogs and cats. The spray format allows direct contact with the skin, providing immediate protection and rapid parasite elimination.
When to Use Frontline Spray
Vets and SQPs recommend Frontline Spray for:
-
Dogs and cats with active flea or tick infestations.
-
Prevention of flea reinfestation in multi-pet homes.
-
Early treatment for biting lice.
-
Use in young puppies and kittens (from 2 days old).
Protection lasts up to 3 months against fleas and 5 weeks against ticks, depending on coat length and lifestyle.
How Frontline Spray Works
The active ingredient fipronil acts on the parasite’s nervous system, blocking GABA-gated chloride channels, which causes paralysis and death. When sprayed directly onto the coat, the solution spreads across the skin surface through the sebaceous layer, giving full-body coverage and residual protection.
Dosage & Administration
Use only as directed on the product label.
-
Apply 3–6 ml per kg of bodyweight (1–2 pump strokes per kg for 250 ml bottle).
-
Spray against the lay of the hair to ensure thorough coverage.
-
Massage gently into the coat, particularly around the neck, back and tail.
-
Allow to dry naturally; do not towel dry.
-
Avoid bathing or swimming within 2 days after application.
Always treat all animals in the household to prevent re-infestation.
Precautions & Warnings
-
For external use only.
-
Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
-
Do not use on sick or recovering animals without veterinary advice.
-
People with known fipronil sensitivity should avoid handling.
-
Wear gloves during application; wash hands thoroughly afterward.
-
Keep animals away from naked flames or heat sources until the coat is dry.

Store below 30 °C in original packaging, out of direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children and other animals. Shelf life after first opening: 1 year. Dispose of empty containers safely.
