What Aurimic Ear Drops Are For
Aurimic Ear Drops and Cutaneous Suspension for Dogs and Cats 20ml are used to treat external ear infections when your vet has confirmed they are suitable. These infections often involve bacteria, yeast and inflammation in the outer ear canal.
Ear infections can make pets uncomfortable. You may notice head shaking, scratching, dark wax, smell or discharge. By treating infection and calming inflammation, Aurimic helps reduce these signs and supports a healthier ear canal.

✔ Help reduce redness, swelling, itch and discharge in the ear canal
✔ Oily suspension coats the ear lining for good contact with the medicine

How Aurimic Works
Aurimic ear drops for dogs and cats contain three types of active ingredient:
-
An antibiotic to target susceptible bacteria
-
An antifungal agent to tackle yeast in the ear canal
-
A corticosteroid to reduce inflammation, swelling and irritation
These components work together at the site of infection. They help control the organisms causing the problem and soothe the inflamed tissue. As the infection settles, most pets scratch less, shake their heads less and seem more comfortable.
Aurimic treats specific types of ear infection. Your vet will decide if it is the right option after examining your pet’s ears and, if needed, taking swabs or samples.
When Vets May Prescribe Aurimic
Your vet may prescribe Aurimic ear drops for dogs and cats when:
-
There is an external ear infection involving bacteria and/or yeast
-
The ear drum is intact and it is safe to use ear drops
-
Other causes, such as ear mites, foreign bodies or severe wax, have been checked and managed
Ear disease often has an underlying cause. Common factors include allergies, ear shape, moisture and hormonal disease. Aurimic treats the infection and inflammation. Your vet may also plan long-term management of these deeper issues to reduce future flare-ups.
How to Use Aurimic Ear Drops
Always follow your vet’s instructions and the label on the bottle. As a simple guide:
-
If advised, gently wipe away surface debris from the outer ear with a vet-approved cleaner.
-
Shake the bottle if the label tells you to do so.
-
Lift the ear flap and hold it upright so you can see the canal opening.
-
Place the nozzle just inside the opening. Do not push it deep into the ear.
-
Squeeze the bottle to deliver the number of drops your vet has prescribed.
-
Massage the base of the ear gently for a few seconds to help spread the drops.
Your vet will tell you:
-
How many drops to put in each ear
-
How many times a day to use Aurimic
-
How long the course should last
Do not change the dose or stop the course early unless your vet advises this. If you miss a dose or are unsure whether the full dose went in, contact your vet for advice.
Ear Cleaning and Ongoing Care
Aurimic ear drops for dogs and cats work best when you follow a full ear-care plan. Your vet may:
-
Clean the ears in the clinic before starting treatment
-
Recommend a specific ear cleaner for use at home
-
Show you how to clean the outer ear safely without pushing debris deeper
Only use cleaners and techniques approved by your vet. Do not insert cotton buds into the ear canal, as this can cause damage and move material further in.
You can also help by:
-
Keeping ears as dry as possible after bathing or swimming
-
Checking ears regularly for redness, smell or discharge
-
Seeking veterinary advice early if your pet starts scratching or shaking its head again
Safety Information
Aurimic Ear Drops and Cutaneous Suspension for Dogs and Cats 20ml is a POM-V medicine. It must only be used for the pet named on the prescription and under veterinary supervision.
Important points to remember:
-
Do not use if your vet suspects a damaged ear drum unless they confirm it is safe
-
Use only in the ear canal as directed; do not use in eyes, mouth or on large skin areas
-
Tell your vet about any other medicines or supplements your pet is receiving
-
Contact your vet if your pet seems more uncomfortable, tilts the head, loses balance, or if the ear looks worse during treatment
Some pets can be sensitive to any ear product. If you notice marked redness, swelling, pain or unusual behaviour after application, stop using the drops and speak to your vet promptly.
People applying Aurimic should wash their hands after use and avoid getting the drops in their own eyes or mouth. Store the bottle as directed on the label, and keep it out of sight and reach of children and animals. Return any unused or expired medicine to your vet or pharmacist for safe disposal.
Used exactly as your vet directs, Aurimic ear drops for dogs and cats can play an important part in clearing ear infections and helping keep your pet’s ears comfortable and healthy.
