How Do I Upload My Pet Prescription?
A simple step-by-step guide to getting your prescription to us
Quick Answer
- You can upload your prescription before or after placing your order
- Accepted file types are PDF, JPG and PNG
- The file size limit is 8MB
- Uploading a prescription does not place an order on its own
- Prescription checking usually takes 1–2 working days
Uploading Your Prescription, Step by Step
- Take a clear photo or scan of your pet's written prescription from your vet.
- Go to the Upload Prescription page and fill in your details — your name, your pet's name, the animal type, the medicine name and your vet practice details.
- Add your order number if you have one, so we can match the prescription to your order.
- Attach your file — PDF, JPG or PNG, up to 8MB — and submit the form.
- Our team will review it and contact you if we need any extra information.
Uploading Doesn't Place Your Order
Uploading a prescription is a separate step from ordering. You still need to find the product, add it to your basket and pay before your order can be processed.
You can upload your prescription either before you order or straight after — whichever is easiest for you.
If Your Upload Doesn't Go Through
- If the upload form won't accept your file, email it to us instead
- Include your order number, full name, pet's name, medicine name and vet practice details
- Send everything to info@petmeddirect.co.uk
How Pet Med Direct Can Help
Once your prescription arrives, it's checked by our team before anything prescription-only is dispensed. If anything is missing or unclear, we'll get in touch using the details on your form.
Some treatments require a valid veterinary prescription. Pet Med Direct can only supply prescription medicines after the prescription has been checked. Always follow your vet's advice and the directions on the medicine label.

Can I upload my prescription before I order?
Yes, you can upload it whenever suits you — before or after placing your order. Just make sure your order number is added once you have one, so it can be matched up.
What if I don't have an order number yet?
That's fine. The upload form lets you enter 11 in the order number field if you don't have one yet.
How many files can I upload?
You can upload up to 3 files in one go, which is useful if your prescription is more than one page.
What should I do if I'm not sure my upload worked?
