Adaptil Transport Spray for Dogs
Adaptil Transport spray for dogs is a pheromone spray from Ceva that you apply to the car, carrier or bedding to help dogs feel reassured on car journeys, vet visits and other short stressful events. It is alcohol-based and comes in two bottle sizes.
Adaptil is not a veterinary medicine. If your dog shows signs of disease, speak to your veterinary surgeon.
What is Adaptil Transport spray?
It is a spray containing a synthetic copy of dog appeasing pheromone (DAP), the signal produced by the mother dog. You spray the travel space, not the dog, and the dog then enters it after a short wait. The manufacturer designed it for use when your dog is going somewhere unfamiliar.
What is Adaptil Transport spray used for?
Ceva makes it to help dogs feel more reassured during car travel, vet visits, trips and other short stressful events. It is not for travel sickness, and it is not intended for problems unrelated to travel or for aggression. If you are worried about your dog, speak to your vet or a qualified behaviourist.

How to use Adaptil Transport spray
- Spray 8 to 10 pumps onto the car interior, inside the carrier (with your dog not in it), or onto the bedding or blanket your dog will use in the car.
- Wait 15 minutes before your dog goes in, so the alcohol can evaporate.
- The effect lasts 4 to 5 hours. On a long trip, reapply every 4 to 5 hours with your dog out of the area, and wait 15 minutes each time.
Safety information
- Never spray directly onto your dog.
