Why Must Injectable Medicines Be Sent to My Vet?
A safety requirement, not a delivery preference
Quick Answer
- Injectable medicines must be sent directly to a registered veterinary practice
- We are unable to deliver injectable medicines to a home address
- You'll need to give us your vet practice's full name and address when ordering
- If these details aren't provided, your order may need to be cancelled
Why This Rule Exists
For safety, legal and professional reasons, injectable medicines must be delivered directly to a registered veterinary practice, where they can be administered by a vet or a suitably qualified veterinary professional.
This is why we ask for your vet practice's name and address rather than your home address for these particular products.
What This Means When You Order
- When you order an injectable medicine, you'll be asked for your vet practice's full name and address.
- Provide this at the time of ordering, or as soon as we ask for it.
- Your order is then sent directly to the practice, not your home address, once everything has been checked.
If Vet Practice Details Aren't Provided
- We reserve the right to cancel the order
- A £5 administration fee may be deducted from any refund to cover processing, cancellation and repayment costs
- We may also refuse or cancel an order where delivery arrangements don't meet legal, regulatory or safety requirements
If You're Not Sure About Your Order
- If you're unsure whether a product you've ordered is injectable, please contact Pet Med Direct and we can check this for you
- If you need to update your vet practice details, contact us with your order number as soon as possible
How Pet Med Direct Can Help
Our team can help confirm what's needed for your specific order, including whether your product is classed as injectable and what vet practice details we'll need from you.
Some treatments require a valid veterinary prescription. Pet Med Direct can only supply prescription medicines after the prescription has been checked. Always follow your vet's advice and the directions on the medicine label.
