Easotic Ear Drops for Dogs 10ml
PRESCRIPTION NEEDED (Pom-V)
Easotic ear drops for dogs are used to treat external ear infections (otitis externa). These infections commonly involve a mix of bacteria, yeast and inflammation inside the ear canal, which can cause itch, pain, smell and discharge.
By combining an antibiotic, an antifungal and a steroid, Easotic helps bring infection under control and calms the inflamed tissue. Most dogs become more comfortable, shake their heads less and scratch their ears less once treatment is underway.
Benefits of Easotic Ear Drops for Dogs
✔ POM-V prescription ear drops for dogs only
✔ Treat mixed bacterial and yeast ear infections when advised by your vet
✔ Steroid component helps reduce redness, swelling and itch
✔ Oily suspension coats the ear canal lining for good contact with the medicine
✔ Multidose 10ml bottle with applicator for accurate, repeated dosing
How Easotic Works
Easotic ear drops for dogs contain:
-
An antibiotic to target susceptible bacteria in the ear canal
-
An antifungal to tackle yeast overgrowth
-
A corticosteroid to reduce inflammation and irritation
Together, these ingredients help clear infection and soothe sore tissues in the outer ear. As swelling and discharge reduce, the ear canal is more comfortable and easier for your vet to reassess at follow-up appointments.
When Vets May Prescribe Easotic
Your vet may prescribe Easotic ear drops for dogs when:
-
Your dog has otitis externa with bacteria and/or yeast present
-
The ear drum is intact and it is safe to use ear drops
-
Underlying issues such as ear mites, foreign bodies or heavy wax build-up have been checked and managed
Ear disease often has deeper causes, such as allergies, moisture, ear conformation or hormonal disease. Easotic treats the infection and inflammation. Your vet may also plan long-term management of any underlying cause to reduce the risk of future flare-ups.
How to Use Easotic Ear Drops for Dogs
Always follow your vet’s instructions and the label on the bottle. As a general guide:
-
Shake the bottle if the label advises
-
Gently lift your dog’s ear flap and hold it upright
-
Place the applicator tip just inside the ear canal opening (do not force it deep)
-
Squeeze the bottle to deliver the exact number of doses or clicks your vet has prescribed
-
Massage the base of the ear gently for a few seconds to help spread the drops
Your vet will tell you:
-
How many “pumps” or measured doses to use in each ear
-
How often to apply the drops (for example, once daily)
-
How many days or weeks the course should last
Do not change the dose or stop the course early unless your vet advises this. If you miss a dose or are unsure whether the full dose went into the ear, contact your vet for advice.
Ear Cleaning and Ongoing Care
Easotic ear drops for dogs work best when the ears are cleaned as your vet suggests. They may:
-
Clean the ears in the clinic before starting treatment
-
Recommend a specific ear cleaner and show you how to use it safely
-
Advise when to clean and when to apply drops so one does not dilute the other
Only use ear cleaners approved by your vet. Do not insert cotton buds deep into the ear canal, as this can damage the ear or push debris further in.
You can also support ear health by:
-
Keeping ears as dry as possible after swimming or bathing
-
Checking ears regularly for redness, smell or discharge
-
Seeking veterinary advice early if your dog starts scratching or shaking its head again
Safety Information
Easotic ear drops for dogs are a POM-V medicine. They must only be used for the dog named on the prescription and only under veterinary supervision.
Important points:
-
Do not use if your vet suspects a damaged ear drum unless they confirm it is safe
-
Do not use Easotic in eyes, mouth or on skin away from the ear canal
-
Tell your vet about any other medicines or supplements your dog is receiving
-
Contact your vet if your dog seems more uncomfortable, tilts the head, loses balance, or if the ear looks worse during treatment
Some dogs may be sensitive to any ear product. If you notice marked redness, swelling, pain or unusual behaviour after application, stop using the drops and contact your vet promptly.
People applying Easotic ear drops for dogs should wash their hands after use and avoid getting the drops in their own eyes or mouth. Store the bottle as directed on the label, and keep it out of sight and reach of children and animals. Return any unused or expired medicine to your vet or pharmacist for safe disposal.
Used exactly as your vet directs, Easotic ear drops for dogs can play an important role in treating ear infections and helping keep your dog’s ears comfortable and healthy.
