What are ENROX Tablets?
ENROX Tablets are flavoured enrofloxacin tablets used in veterinary practice for the treatment of bacterial infections in dogs and cats where clinical judgement, and where possible sensitivity testing, indicates enrofloxacin as the appropriate choice. This product family is available in three strengths to make dosing easier across a wide range of bodyweights:
-
15mg tablets for cats and dogs
-
50mg tablets for dogs
-
150mg tablets for dogs
Each strength is supplied here as a box of 100 tablets, making them practical for veterinary practices, breeders, rescues and multi-pet households managing repeat prescriptions.
What do they treat?
ENROX Tablets are used for the treatment of bacterial infections affecting:
-
the alimentary tract
-
the respiratory tract
-
the urogenital tract
-
the skin
-
secondary wound infections
-
otitis externa in dogs
This gives them a wide range of uses where enrofloxacin is considered clinically appropriate.
How do they work?
Enrofloxacin belongs to the fluoroquinolone group of antibiotics. It works by interfering with bacterial DNA replication, which helps stop susceptible bacteria from multiplying and spreading. Because fluoroquinolones are important antimicrobials, they should be used responsibly and in line with current antimicrobial stewardship guidance.
Dosing guide
The recommended dose is 5mg enrofloxacin per kg bodyweight per day, given once daily or divided into two doses daily, for 5 to 10 days.
The strengths are designed to simplify dosing:
-
Cats and small dogs: 1 × 15mg tablet per 3kg bodyweight
-
Medium dogs: 1 × 50mg tablet per 10kg bodyweight
-
Large dogs: 1 × 150mg tablet per 30kg bodyweight
Treatment duration in dogs may be extended depending on clinical response and veterinary judgement. Animals should be weighed as accurately as possible before treatment to avoid under-dosing.
Why choose ENROX Tablets?
These tablets are useful when you need:
-
a trusted enrofloxacin option in tablet form
-
a choice of strengths for small, medium and large patients
-
a 100-tablet box for practice use or ongoing veterinary treatment plans
-
a flavoured tablet format that may be easier to administer than uncoated alternatives
Important safety information
Do not use in:
-
dogs under 1 year of age, or under 18 months in exceptionally large breeds with prolonged growth periods
-
cats under 8 weeks of age
-
animals with known hypersensitivity to enrofloxacin or other quinolones
-
dogs with seizure disorders
-
prophylactic use
Use with caution in animals with severe renal or hepatic impairment.
In cats, exceeding the recommended dose can cause retinal toxicity and blindness.
Do not combine with tetracyclines, phenicols, macrolides or theophylline without veterinary guidance.
Concurrent use with magnesium- or aluminium-containing products may reduce absorption.
Pregnancy and lactation
As enrofloxacin passes into maternal milk, use during pregnancy or lactation should only be based on the benefit-risk assessment of the prescribing veterinary surgeon.
Storage and presentation
The tablets are supplied in blister packs of 10 tablets, packed into boxes of 100 tablets. No special storage conditions are typically required, but always follow the pack leaflet and keep medicines securely out of reach of children and animals.
