What Reconcile is used for

Reconcile (fluoxetine) is licensed as an aid in the treatment of separation-related disorders in dogs — destructive behaviour, excessive vocalisation, and inappropriate defecation or urination linked to separation anxiety — always used in combination with a structured behaviour modification plan, not as a standalone treatment.

Strength and pack

8mg chewable tablets, packs of 30. Reconcile is also available in 16mg, 32mg and 64mg for different dog sizes.

How it’s given

Given orally, once daily, with or without food, at the dose your vet prescribes.

Safety information

• Not for use in dogs with epilepsy or a history of seizures
• Not for use in dogs under 4kg bodyweight
• Not for use in breeding dogs
• Not for use in dogs hypersensitive to fluoxetine or other SSRIs
• Do not combine with other serotonergic medicines, MAOIs, phenothiazines (e.g. acepromazine) or tricyclic antidepressants without veterinary guidance
• Possible effects include reduced appetite and lethargy; less commonly, changes to urination or coordination; rarely, seizures or vomiting — contact your vet if you notice anything unusual
