Zenrelia tablets for dogs are a once-daily prescription medicine for pruritus associated with allergic dermatitis and the clinical signs of atopic dermatitis. They contain ilunocitinib, a Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor.
Available in four film-coated tablet strengths – 4.8mg, 6.4mg, 8.5mg and 15mg – in 30- and 90-tablet packs (subject to stock). Zenrelia is a POM-V medicine and must only be used under veterinary guidance, at the strength and quantity shown on your dog’s prescription.

Zenrelia tablets for dogs are a once-daily prescription treatment for itchy, inflamed skin caused by allergic and atopic dermatitis. They contain ilunocitinib, a Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor that acts on the pruritic and inflammatory pathways involved in these conditions.
What Zenrelia is used for
Zenrelia is licensed for:
Treatment of pruritus (itching) associated with allergic dermatitis in dogs
Treatment of the clinical manifestations of atopic dermatitis in dogs
Your vet will investigate and treat any underlying cause of the allergy (such as flea allergy, food allergy or contact allergy) and any complicating infections or infestations alongside Zenrelia treatment.
Available strengths
Zenrelia is supplied as yellow, oblong, film-coated tablets with a score line, available in four strengths:
4.8mg Zenrelia tablets for dogs
6.4mg Zenrelia tablets for dogs
8.5mg Zenrelia tablets for dogs
15mg Zenrelia tablets for dogs
The recommended dose is 0.6–0.8mg ilunocitinib/kg bodyweight, given once daily. Your vet will select the correct strength (or combination of strengths) for your dog’s bodyweight and confirm the dose on your prescription – always order the strength and quantity your vet has prescribed.
Age
Use of Zenrelia in dogs younger than 12 months of age is not recommended and should be based on an individual benefit-risk assessment by the responsible veterinary surgeon.
How Zenrelia is given
Zenrelia is given orally, once a day. It can usually be given with or without food, but it’s best given consistently one way or the other, as this affects absorption. Always follow your vet’s instructions and the package leaflet.
Give only the amount prescribed by your vet
Do not change the dose, skip doses or stop suddenly without veterinary advice
If you miss a dose or your dog spits out a tablet, contact your vet for guidance
On long-term treatment, your vet may re-weigh your dog periodically and adjust the dose if bodyweight changes significantly
Safety information
According to the current product information, Zenrelia must not be used:
In dogs with evidence of immune suppression
In dogs with evidence of progressive malignant neoplasia
In dogs with known hypersensitivity to ilunocitinib or any excipient
Zenrelia has not been evaluated in dogs with hepatic or renal disease, or in dogs with anaemia – use in these cases is based on your vet’s benefit-risk assessment. Because ilunocitinib modulates the immune system, dogs on long-term treatment should be monitored for infections and neoplasia, and periodic blood tests are recommended. Zenrelia is not recommended during pregnancy, lactation or in dogs intended for breeding.
The most commonly reported side effects are vomiting and diarrhoea; pododermatitis and papillomas have also been reported. Contact your vet if you notice anything that worries you.
Handling advice for owners
Keep tablets out of sight and reach of children, and wash your hands after handling them. Accidental ingestion may cause gastro-intestinal effects – if this happens, seek medical advice immediately and show the package leaflet or label to the doctor.
