What Loxicom is used for

Loxicom 1.5 mg/ml Oral Suspension for Dogs is licensed for the alleviation of pain and inflammation in both acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders in dogs, including osteoarthritis.

This product is for dogs only. It is not suitable for cats — cats require the separate Loxicom 0.5 mg/ml oral suspension for cats, a different strength with its own dosing.

Strength and pack sizes

Contains meloxicam 1.5mg/ml. Available in 10ml, 32ml and 100ml bottles, supplied with a graduated dosing syringe.

How it’s given

Given orally, mixed with food or directly into the mouth — shake well before use. Typical dosing is 0.2mg/kg on day one, then 0.1mg/kg once daily, which your vet may reduce further to the lowest effective dose for long-term use. Do not change the dose without veterinary advice.

Safety information

• Not for use in dogs under 6 weeks of age, or in dogs with gastrointestinal disorders, haemorrhagic disorders, or impaired hepatic, cardiac or renal function
• Not for use in pregnant or lactating dogs
• Do not combine with other NSAIDs or corticosteroids
• Possible effects include appetite loss, lethargy, vomiting, diarrhoea or blood in the faeces — contact your vet if you notice any of these
