What is Anthelmin Cat?

Anthelmin Cat 230mg/20mg tablets are a broad-spectrum oral wormer for cats. Each film-coated tablet contains pyrantel embonate 230 mg and praziquantel 20 mg, a proven combination used to target the most common intestinal worms seen in cats. The tablets are white to off-white, biconvex and scored so they can be divided into halves for flexible dosing.

What does it treat?

This cat wormer is used for the treatment of mixed infestations with roundworms, hookworms and tapeworms. It is indicated against adult Toxocara cati, adult Ancylostoma tubaeforme and Ancylostoma braziliense, plus tapeworm species including Dipylidium caninum, Echinococcus multilocularis, Hydatigera (Taenia) taeniaeformis, Mesocestoides spp. and Joyeuxiella pasqualei. That makes it a useful all-round choice where both roundworm and tapeworm cover are needed in one tablet.

How it works

The two active ingredients work in different ways to widen the spectrum of control. Pyrantel embonate targets key intestinal roundworms and hookworms, while praziquantel is included for tapeworm control. Together they provide convenient, single-product intestinal worm treatment for cats.

Dosing and administration

The tablets are given by mouth and the dose is based on bodyweight. Because the tablets are scored, they can be divided into halves to help achieve the correct dose for smaller cats. Accurate weighing is important before treatment so the right amount is given and under-dosing is avoided. Tablets can be administered directly or mixed with a small amount of food if needed, provided the full dose is eaten.

Why choose this product?

Anthelmin Cat is a practical option for owners who want one worming tablet that covers both roundworms and tapeworms. The scored film-coated format makes it easier to handle and split, while the 30-tablet pack is ideal for multi-cat households, rescues, breeders or clinics that need a larger quantity on hand.

Important safety information

Do not use in kittens under 6 weeks of age. Do not use at the same time as piperazine compounds. The product should not be used in cats with known hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or any excipients. It should not be used during pregnancy, although it may be used during lactation. As with any wormer, good hygiene and regular litter tray cleaning should be part of the overall parasite-control plan.

Storage and handling

Store in the original packaging and keep out of sight and reach of children. Any unused half tablets should be discarded rather than stored for later use, following the pack guidance. Always read the package leaflet before use.
