What Galliprant is used for

Galliprant (grapiprant) is a piprant-class NSAID licensed for the treatment of pain associated with mild to moderate osteoarthritis in dogs. Response is usually seen within 7 days — if there’s no improvement by 14 days, your vet will reassess treatment.

Available strengths

20mg, 60mg and 100mg tablets, packs of 30, combined by your vet to give a weight-based dose of around 2mg/kg.

How it’s given

Given once daily on an empty stomach, at least one hour before the next meal — fasted absorption is significantly higher than fed, so timing matters. Always follow your vet’s prescribed dose.

Safety information
  • Not for use in dogs hypersensitive to grapiprant or excipients, or in pregnant, lactating or breeding dogs
  • Safety has not been established in dogs under 9 months of age or under 3.6kg bodyweight
  • Grapiprant is chemically related to sulphonamides — tell your vet if your dog has a history of sulphonamide sensitivity
  • Use with other NSAIDs or corticosteroids has not been studied and should be avoided
  • Very common effect: vomiting. Common: soft stools, diarrhoea, reduced appetite. Very rare: blood in vomit, haemorrhagic diarrhoea, pancreatitis, raised liver or kidney values — contact your vet if you notice anything unusual
